Spring

I took this picture along the Philosopher's Walk when I visited Kyoto with my dad last month. The bark of mitsumata has been used since the 16th century to make washi.

Naomi has started a blog. I've never called a piece of writing irreverant before, but that's what it is. I hope she keeps it up! I'll add a link to the list of friend's blogs to the right, along with a link to the bookslut blog.

Sometimes this blog feels like one fancy, portable Bookmarks list--a pack rat's hoard. But if I don't close some windows in Safari, I'll crash my computer.

-Full Billy Collins poetry CD with readings, and other downloads, with thanks to the Poetry Foundation podcast. The links include this beautiful, beautiful commencement address.

-Minnesota Public Radio presents poetry that heals. Did you know that the Journal of the American Medical Association publishes a new poem with each issue?

-Hanart Gallery: Han Yan says that this is her favorite gallery in Hong Kong. I've been meaning to check it out.

-I'm going to see a one-woman band called Pancakes this weekend. Very cute Canto pop. Free MP3s online. $100 at the Fringe Club.
