Hong Kong has been beautiful in the past few weeks, the rain showers have cleared the way for the summer clouds, and the sky is a brilliant blue. I spent Saturday on the beach in Lantau island with some friends, there was so much to look at--the patterns created by the different colored sands, the kids and dogs, the men and women, the water; the mountains.
There was another poem that I was going to post, but it has been superseded by this one by Louise Erdrich called "Advice to Myself".
I found it thanks to a featured site box on the Poetry Foundation's collection of links. The site was Garrison Keillor's Writer's Almanac, which is a perfect name for these podcasts.
The photo of the moon is one that Han Yan took in our neighborhood, we were walking home from dinner when I noticed the sky.
